The only issue I have with this is that it really really struggles with the iOS VPN button. It automatically reconnects if you disconnect from the iOS VPN button. Then refuses to disconnect unless you are in the app, click the iOS vpn button, it disconnects then reconnects then you click the menu button in the app. Unsure if this is just an issue with iOS above 24.0 or what but I am at version 26.6 right now. If it could be fixed that would be great.

Seconda cosa ha un killswitch, per me importante, che non funziona bene, se l'app crasha non blocca la connessione, se la linea cade la blocca mentre la stai usando, ma se vuoi rientrare nell'applicazione che stavi usando la puoi usare senza che il killswitch tolga la linea. In pratica non fuziona in modo radicale. Le velocita' sono buone, ma le trovavo piu stabile un apio di anni fa. Per il resto lavora bene, ma queste cosine, per me importanti ,fanno si che io debba cambiare fornitore
Worked for years until they shadow banned me. Unfortunately I just updated my subscription for another 3 years shortly before the shadow ban. I had to ask support what was going on and then they told me that they saw weird connection patterns from one of my devices. I asked for more details but they are ghosting me since (more than 2 weeks now).
In the past I would have recommend their service, currently I’m telling everybody to stay away from hide.me since they don’t seem to be interested in a problem solution as soon as there is one.

I’ve been using Hide.me for about 10 years. It has always been super easy to use. I’ve never had an issue that wasn’t caused by some other software/firmware update. Even then, just a simple relaunch of Hide.me had it back up and running smoothly again. I initially got it to watch live hockey streams in my home town when the NHL/ESPN would black them out in my area code. I use it for all kinds of other things now. I always use it when I’m on a public wi-fi with my computer or phone.
This is awful in both Windows and Linux. Horrible latency and bandwidth. Doesn't provide any meaningful control over server location. It's a shame they don't take this seriously since it's so useful to be able to browse through a VPN without disturbing systemwide connections. It's really quite impossible to use the VPN through the extension. I don't have strong enough words to express my disgust with this.
Did a little research, tried a few others claiming to be the best but I've been using Hide Me free version VPN, no intrusive ads! for long enough to know that it works for my needs. There have been a few minor issues but have been corrected immediately. Great app HideMe and some piece of mind 👌 I've now used Hide Me free VPN for at least 6 now my opinion hasn't changed. You may be paying for a subscription but you won't find a free VPN with military grade protection.
I really loved this app because it could really let me choose my own country instead of having to pay. But the thing that caught me off was I didn’t know there was a month trial, and basically it revoked every right I have. So it just became useless because I’m specifically looking for free VPNs, not free TRIALS.

has bugs . I do not have automatic connection for phone boot up option yet it automatically connects me and to Sweden and so it is interrupting apps tht I have tht CANNOT be non USA location. so even tho I love it its buggy . then I cant even check.if it is connected without bypassing Microsoft edge to go to ipchecker site ..so its weird never know if its truly connected. id like to add screenshot but play store doesnt have that option
I'm extremely impressed with the free version of this app. So much so that I'm probably going to go ahead and subscribe to the premium subscription. I was able to start using it immediately and a lot of the reviews I've read said that there's a limit on the speed but I don't have any issues as I've been streaming with it no problem. I'm also extremely impressed with the fact that I didn't have to sign up for anything or give any personally identifying information just to start using it.
I gave it a lower rating only because it normally fail to go to the correct server as is pointed out. In other words, , when i choose, for example, United States it invariably goes to the Switzerland server. Speed is rather on the slow side, but for being a Free VPN , all in all, it is quite a bargain and great workout. By the way I am using the VPN in China, where it works well. Keep up the great work.

Habe Hide.me jetzt 1 Jahr getestet und kann mich den 4,5 Sternen in keiner Weise anschliessen. Das VPN läuft regelmässig unrund, die Leistung bricht ein oder das VPN versagt vollkommen den Dienst, der Kill Switch funktioniert nicht. Über manche Länder ist das VPN teilweise nicht möglich, dann wieder schon. Auf bestimmten Seiten wird man mit der jeweiligen IP sofort komplett geblockt (kein geoblocking), als wäre die genutzte IP schon lange "verbrannt". Zwei Sterne statt nur einem Stern gibt es für die durchweg schnelle Reaktionszeit des Support. Leider ergab das keine wirklichen Verbesserungen und ich sollte ständig im Browser irgendwelche, durchaus sicherheitsrelevante Einstellungen ändern, was ich so von anderen VPN-Anbietern überhaupt nicht kenne und was mir dann am Ende auch irgendwie unseriös vorkam und mir zusätzlich zu blöde wurde. Eine Rückerstattung der mtl. Gebühren für die verbliebenen 12 Monate aus Kulanz wurde von hide.me abgelehnt. Brauch ́ ich alles nicht sowas.

Nachdem ich mehr oder weniger durch Zufall im Betriebssystems noch diverse Dateireste von hide.me gefunden und entfernt habe, lud ich interessehalber noch einmal die aktuelle Version runter, weil Abo geht noch eine Weile und obwohl ich in der Zwischenzeit ein anderes VPN genutzt hatte, und siehe da !! es läuft reibungslos und so wie ich mir das vorgestellt hatte.. normalerweise wäre das eine 4-5 Sterne Bewertung gewesen und der Support war wie erwähnt wirklich schnell, nur es nützt mir nichts, wenn die Hilfe nicht hilft und der Fehler "relativ" einfach hätte behoben werden können. Deshalb bleiben von den 4-5 Sternen, leider nur 3 übrig.

Is extremely inexpensive with several subscription options, yearly , 2 year ect ....5/13/25 . Hideme is one of a few that has no mention of a 'proxy' on the paid version. VPN and a VPN proxy are not the same. VPN is a much better/safer option. It looks like the free Hideme version uses a proxy browser ? Confusing - yes .
So, I liked the service and wanted to go premium. including moving the subscription to be on my mobile device as well. Unfortunately, when I purchased the subscription, it didn't register. I thought that they must have a restore purchase button somewhere! And they do. But only if you're not signed in. So I wouldn't be able to use my subscription on any other device. Actually Laughable. With a VPN (Virtual PRIVATE Network) IMO there is no middle ground. The product either performs as described and expected before the purchase or it doesn’t. In this case it is the latter. I use a plethora of VPN’s (Nord, Express, Surf Shark, Proton, Cyber Ghost. Hide.Me) as each perform a separate function better than the others. I do not use a “free” VPN as nothing is free or PRIVATE regarding these, I do not use a service which is allied with the Five/Thirteen Eyes, nor do I use a VPN for anything streaming. Private networks are just that...private. What each individual works on online is their own business, not the government’s, service provider or even the VPN’s business (Use a TOR along with your VPN). My point to this rant with regard to Hide.Me is their “Smart Guard” add-on. For seven months of my first subscription term all worked as expected. However the final three months the Smart Guard continuously failed at which time I would not be notified until I changed locations or VPN providers that this add-on failed. This service supposedly includes Tracking Blockers, Advanced Filters, Advertisement Blockers, Malicious File Filters amongst others including the blacklisting/whitelisting DNS names. After I would disconnect the notification would arise that this entire setting had failed which simply means everything I listed failed as well therefore your privacy goes out the door. I had inquired prior to my renewal about this issue with MAC, IOS and Android. The ‘fix’ was released and all was well. Nope. Here we are with 342 days remaining on my current subscription and the app crashes in its entirety when Smart Guard is chosen. As mentioned in the beginning the product either works or not. There is no middle ground with a Virtual PRIVATE Network when the PRIVACY aspect is null, questionable or simply fails.

Setup and choice of a VPN is easy. However, more and more sites will not work with hide.me, especially most Canadian banks when logging on. Other vendor sites requiring logging in require me to tun off the vpn. I can turn it back on after login.
On Linux, no Multihop and no Graphical Interface ( GUI ) . No ipv6 ( MacOs and Linux ). IPV6 it ́s complicatetd to Disable. Complicated to start with terminal commands. Terminal commands hard to find in Tutourial and the whole Internet.

Good VPN for macOS. Wireguard stops working every now and then. VPN cannot always be disabled/enabled. After quitting and restarting hideme it usually works. OpenVPN is WAY quicker to connect (and get an IP). UDP seems to slow things down a lot. Just started using TCP and that seems a lot better. Have just switched to OpenVPN from Wireguard so no long term experience yet.
Well initially when I downloaded the app I really was impressed it had all the bills and whistles that I usually would look for in VPN everything was great until I had to do a hard reset on my phone and reinstall all of my apps. Well when I did I try to restore my purchases and it still wouldn't give me my premium back because I paid for the premium and then on top of that it also will not let me do a monthly purchase it'll only give me the option for a yearly I don't like that at all.

Read the reviews (on the internet), thought I'd give it a go, downloaded it on google play (from the internet), started it up, clicked the free option.... it tells me there is no internet connection. Writing this review as it tells me so. (On the internet.) (I don't have a SIM in at the minute, just using WiFi (which is connected!). Worrying. Could it be checking for a phone connection?)

Now, they will probably gaslight and say it's so there are no conflicts resulting from two different services but what i can tell you is the other services aren't blocking hide.me's website. Do not subscribe to their services. I've been one of their dedicated customers for two years, and they blatantly stole from me. Yesterday my subscription ended and I had to renew it to continue using their services, and today I made my payment to them, to which they claimed to have no record of it, despite providing my personal logs as well as evidence of the charge to my bank account, to which I was told to effectively "@#$& off" by their customer service and to go somewhere else.
Keeps disconnecting, i would get reconnected when the phone is unlocked only and even then it takes a while to connect. Free plan can no longer extend (I extended it a couple of times and now tells me to try again later as they cannot keep offering it to me, probably to make room for others which is fair. ) nonetheless, the vpn slows down the Internet connection MASSIVELY. Hide.meVPN has no longer made space for me therefore it is time to say goodbye.
Ставишь на двух устройствах, на одном из них после ребута компа из-за конфликта расширения с другими подобными расширениями вообще полностью отлетает соединение с интернетом. И именно из-за этой расширюхи. Удаляешь её из браузера - всё снова работает.
Короче, я по кд то удаляю эту расширку, то устанавливаю её заново. Только так и дружим, даже страница эта в закладках...

It had been working normally for about 8 months before the beginning of September when the problems apperared. Connection over Open VPN protocol seems to be blocked on the home router and in the app there is only SSTP protocol is remaining functional - nobody knows for how long though. I have to look for a new solution for our family

Спустя еше 2 недели искусственно ограничил скорость
МММ классная политика, я бы оплатил платную версию если бы был уверен в без укоризненной работе, но это г*вно даже в первые 2 недели не может норм работать

This is a great vpn if you’re on a budget although no matter what you’re on ( free or upgraded) on the free version I checked my IP address via other ip address locators and although I was connected to Holland 🇳🇱 the IP address location apps stated I was connected to the 🇺🇸 US 🤔 ? WHY? - therefore I’m wondering have I been online thinking I’m secure using hide me vpn when in fact my connection has been lost and left to the big brother eyes of my internet provider to invade my privacy and anyone else who wants to do the same thing or even something more sinister?
On iOS you get usual VPN symbol in the left corner of your screen so you’ll be thinking you connection is secure although to be then told you not connected by a IP address location app your elsewhere on the planet - what is happening ? 🤔 (TIP for users) routinely go to your settings on your device and see if this vpn is connected because I’ve seen it randomly say “VPN connected then a milli second later it shows VPN “connecting” - all other devices on my LAN that use proton vpn have no issues whatsoever so heed the warning ⚠️ you’re connection might not be as secure as you thing) come on Hide Me sort this out !

Очень странная и откровенно тупая схема работы. Если включать пункт "Всегда включать прокси", то он не подключатся автоматически в случае ошибки или обрыва соединения, а выключается и тупит. Что, так сложно написать функцию проверки подключения и функцию обновления подключения внутри цикла?

Иногда он ломается, и все сервера к которым можно подключиться просто исчезают. Для того чтобы это починить надо его переустановить, а потом он снова ломается и по новой. (Изменено) Теперь даже это с перебоями работает

Mitten in der Vertragslaufzeit, wird durch Update aus dem Google Store für Android plötzlich eine Useranmeldung mit Username/Mail-Adresse und Passwort generiert. Zugangsdaten wurde aber bei Kauf der Mitgliedschaft für ein Jahr nie zugeschickt. Das Rücksetzen des Passwortes (was ich ja nie vorher erhalten habe) wird vom System bestätigt, aber die Mail kommt bei Google-Mail gar nicht erst an! Dann habe ich den Support kontaktiert. Dieser online via Chat - und dann erzählen die mir im Chat, das alles so annoynm ist, daß die nicht helfen können!
Die haben da aber scheinbar ganz viele Probleme drin.
Das ich plötzlich mitten in der bezahlten Phase das Produkt nicht mehr nutzen kann, ärgert mich am meisten, aber auch vorher spinnt die Applikation und loggt immer am Anfang in die falsche und nicht in die voreingestellte Region ein. Das Trennen und Neuauswählen bringt die App oft zum Absturz, so daß man das Gerät neu starten muß, damit die App wieder funktioniert.
Also ich kann das Produkt nicht mehr empfehlen!
First of all, trust me. I AM NOT A BOT!!
I have a pretty good opinion of this extension! Remember that I thoroughly test VPNs or extensions before I take them seriously. I use hide.me as an app on my Android phone, which works flawlessly! I have never had the slightest problem.
As for the Chrome Extension, the only minor issue I see is that they use several Google DNS servers, but these servers are mainly in the countries whose IP addresses hide.me shows, which I don't see as a significant problem. So, with this small remark, ALL PRAISE!
In other words, if you want a professional and leak-free VPN, subscribe to one of the proven good ones, like Nord VPN, ExpressVPN, Surfshark VPN, or another high-quality professional VPN. But if you are an occasional casual user like me, this extension will be more than enough for you!
So, all in all, I can confidently say that this is A PRETTY GOOD EXTENSION!
I don't know what this is good for. It disconnects whatever web page I'm on every few minutes, making me lose all my web sessions. It can't connect to the Play Store either. That's like all I want from a VPN service and it can do neither.
Started out ok but after renewing the free monthly plan three times, it then puts you into an infinite loading screen when trying to renew it a fourth time. Thats stupid. Just tell me that you wont allow more than 3 free plan sub's!

Ich habe einen Premium Account, der leider noch 1 Jahr läuft und bereue zutiefst, meine Zeit mit Hide.me VPN verschwendet zu haben.
Deshalb möchte ich hier jeden ausdrücklich warnen, Geld in diesen inkompetenten, verlogenen und unfähigen Verein zu versenken.
Zuallererst, nach 3 Jahren der Inaktivität wegen Aufgabe, in denen die dem Dienstleister bekannten Probleme von früher immernoch nicht im Ansatz behoben worden sind und der Support auch schon nicht mehr antwortet, weil Sie mit der Komplexität eines Standart Problems bereits überfordert sind, war mein Account einfach gelöscht worden und erstmal musste mühsam wiederhergestellt werden.
Des Weiteren ist es zwar möglich sowohl über die App, als auch per direkt-Einrichtung im Router VPN Verbindungen aufzubauen, aber diese sind weder stabil, geschweige denn schnell oder gar zuverlässig und somit nur sehr bedingt funktional (Paketloss ohne Ende).
Die Identifikation der Herkunft wird auch nur IPseitig auf das angegeben Zielland angepasst, also Amateurhaft oberflächlich, denn auf Netzwerkebene wird überhaupt nichts verschleiert, was bei jedem kompenten Provider sofort die Alamrglocken leuten lässt und sofort identifizieren lässt, dass es sich lediglich um eine fake IP Adresse handelt, statt um einen echten VPN Tunnel zwischen 2 Endpunkten. Daher funktionieren auch weder Steam, Netfix, Amazon, PSN, etc.
Auf mehrfache Anfragen inklusiver Übergabe detailierter Logfiles und ausführlicher Protokolle an den Support, erstmalig bereits vor 4 Jahren (2020), konnten, oder besser wollten diese nicht beantwortet werden, da der Anbieter genau weiß, welcher Schwindel und welche falschen, teils sogar eindeutige Versprechen in der Werbung des Dienstleisters, hier dem Kunden aufgetischt werden.
Bitte fallen Sie daher nicht auf die vermeintlich gekauften 5* Sterne Bewertungen herein, hide.me VPN taugt null, nente, nada.
Ok people this VPN used to have stable connection, for over a month now there end just freezes, everything internet stops, I contacted them, telling me it was my phone, I use two phones and one computer, so clearly the issue is there end... they was very rude on the phone, I do not recommend then anymore...

Впн был недоступен в гуглплей, скачал с сайта. Смартфон самсунг. Второй сервер в каскаде любой но первый стабильно работает только один. Стоит постоянный впн и блокировка трафика вне впн. Когда смартфон долгое время с выключенным экраном впн начинает зависать, приходится закрывать и включать по новой. :-(
In the years I've been using it, hide.me VPN has been fast and reliable, to the point I forget I'm using it. I use it for privacy and other things, like testing geoblocking, so multiple countries is important. I use it on Android, iOS, Windows, and Linux, so client availability iscritical, including industry-standard WireGuard. The few times I needed support, on custom Android builds, the support has been phenomenal.
It's very cool and very rare to se an actually working 100% free to use VPN, but when I brought premium, I was left unsatisfied: because Multihop doesn't work and if it works it disconnects after a few minutes, if I have the app in the background open for more than a few hours the VPN says it's connected but it actually isn't, and the connection speed in general isn't increasd. If you want a simple free VPN for your phone, it's the best, but if you want a more advanced VPN, this is not the one.

Попробовал зайти в приложение на ПК с логином учётной записи Google (с которой сделал оплату), написало, что такой учётной записи нет! КУДА ДЕЛИСЬ ДЕНЬГИ? В Play market светится оплаченная подписка!
It says to upgrade now to access all servers. I already have a paid plan, but there are no options to log in on the extension. Even tried connecting/ disconnecting my main hide.mv VPN, and making sure I was logged into the site when launching the extension. No luck.

Одни то просто не работали, другие имели не стабильное соединение из-за чего скачивать приходилось заново, у других скорость была крайне низкая ~150Кб/с.

Ich habe mich mit dem hide.me Kundensupport in Verbindung gesetzt, da ich anfangs mit meinem Linux CLI Client einen DNS Leak festgestellt habe und mir der Support Mitarbeiter "Matas" mir dann mehrere Tage geholfen hat, dieses Problem zu lösen. Es hat deswegen mehrere Tage gedauert, weil die Zeitverschiebung hier eine große Rolle gespielt hat.
Was ich besonders toll fand am Support war, dass man mir auf englisch und deutsch geantwortet hatte. Auch wenn dies nur eine Übersetzung war, hat man sich die Mühe gemacht, das man die eigenen Texte übersetzt hat. Vielen lieben Dank, Matas. 🙂👍
Zum hide.me VPN kann ich noch nicht so viel sagen, außer das man einen sehr leistungsstarken VPN bekommt und die Geschwindigkeit kaum eingeschränkt ist bei Aktivierung. Das es ein paar wenige Mbit/s langsamer wird, ist vermutlich normal und bei unserer VDSL 50 Mbit (wir bekommen 48 Mbit durch) sind es mit VPN von hide.me dann zwischen 40 Mbit und 45 Mbit. Das ist völlig in Ordnung für uns.
Die Hilfen wie man eine Installation und danach Einrichtung vornimmt, ist bei hide.me sehr gut beschrieben, sodass auch der letzte Leihe damit zurecht kommen sollte. 🙂

I use HideMe on my iphone and computer. Normally its 100% fine, works well and no problems plus I love the unlimited data feature. The problem is when it gets glitchy for no reason and can’t be fixed. On my iPhone at the moment, I can connect to HideMe but nothing works. I know its just HideMe because all the other vpns I own work just fine on my phone
And on my laptop, currently it won’t connect at all. I’ve changed vpn protocols, redownloaded the app, restarted it and everything but the app on pc still won’t connect. It just randomly started happening today on my pc, but the problem with my iPhone has been almost a week now. On top of that, I had this problem before on my computer with the HideMe app. The only way it got fixed was because I had to reset my computer for a dofferent reason, and then the vpn worked again. But now it has the same problem. And once again, it’s literally JUST hideme vpn.
All my other vpns work completely fine on my iPhone ans computer

ok every month the same thing happens, they say my payment is invalid but either google pay or paypal show the payments went thru but they always fail to deliver a product, i keep having to get new debit cards every month and load them with cash just so they will take them and this is odd i have so many throw away debit cards its not even funny i am unsure how when i send proof of emails, links and reference numbers how this can keep happening

Paid plans are very competitively priced when paying annually and taking advantage of special offers. Very fast; I forget that I’m using a VPN because I don’t notice any slowdown. Large selection of servers all over the world. Whenever I’ve needed support, usually because of something on my end (e.g., old client on a tablet that doesn’t update anymore), it’s always been quick and to the point. I’ve never been asked irrelevant questions like with support for many other companies where the support reps just follow a script; the support people at hide.me VPN really know their stuff!
It seems like cyber security evolves every 3-4 months these days - it would be helpful to understand how to best use a VPN in common home network architectures (cable router, firewall, network extender, etc . I’m currently questioning whether/how much it helps me remain anonymous on the web and if anonymity matters if/after someone has compromised the network and for how long?
For example: Once your connected to another network or web don’t all the logs on a PC naturally provide a target?
If you could update that kind of information quarterly with weather, new threats have changed how the VPN should be utilized it would also be helpful.

Da hilft es auch nicht, dass Hide.me ein kostenloses, wenn auch auf zufällige Serverwahl und 10GB/Monat beschränktes einmonatiges Gratiskonto anbietet. Hinzu kommen gelegentliche Verbindungsschwierigkeiten einschließlich Verbindungsabbrüche, die einen Kill Switch erfordern würden, den es zwar gibt, der aber folglich auch unbemerkt das Internet blockieren würde.
Immerhin: die Löschung des Kontos kann der Kunde selbst veranlassen und wird sogleich exekutiert.
Weniger vorbildlich: Hide.me zweifelt die Integrität meiner Bewertung an und ist der Auffassung, dass sie gegen die Richtlinien von Trustpilot verstößt (siehe Trustpilot-Artikel 115012099647). Unglücklich von Trustpilot: ohne Reaktion auf die Aufforderung des Unternehmens, mehr Informationen zur Verfügung zu stellen, damit zu drohen, die Bewertung offline zu nehmen. Das ist zum Glück nicht passiert, auch nachdem Hide.me die Bewertung nach seiner Antwort als Diffamierung gemeldet hat.
Dafür gibt es endgültig die Note: ungenügend.
I am so angry. I have been with hide.me vpn for around 5 years. Recently I cannot even get a connection for more than 10 mins. I use this vpn for work and study. Recently I lost credits on an exam because I couldn’t connect. I live in China and am sick and tired of all the complicated troubleshooting I have to do just to get a connection. There was a time when there were good technicians that helped solve problems this last year has been the worst and poor customer service. I can’t even send a contact support message.

I used to like this extension when it offered a free Canada location with reasonable speeds, but now with Canada no longer available, I find the remaining two free locations, - Germany and Netherlands - extremely slow. I have therefore decided to downgrade my previous ratings of 4-stars to just 1-star.
The VPN service on iOS 15 is It has gone from excellent to unreliable over the last two years. However, on my non iOS devices the service is excellent.
Their VPN service drops at the slightest network hiccup and exposes your IP. The VPN exposes app IPs when changing between wifi networks or mobile data. The Kill-Switch does not work because traffic bypasses the VPN during network changes! Setting connect to particular country IP on start-up won't guarantee it won't decide to use "Best available location" which is always te country you are in, which defeats the whole point of avoiding Geolocation restrictions. It works very well on my non-Apple devices
I am so disappointed. This company seems to have a great reputation from what I could find online. They have rejected my credit card twice. There is nothing wrong with my big, famous bank brand VISA that right now has a balance of zero dollars and zero cents. The first time I called the card company. They said that they did not decline the transaction, there is no reason why they would have declined it, and that NOBODY HAD TRIED TO DO A TRANSACTION. I thought maybe I entered the number incorrectly.
I next tried paypal. But paypal wanted me to enter the password for my bank in the middle of the transaction. My bank has been connected to paypal for years, I don't have to enter the password while making a purchase. That never happened before. I was already suspicious so I cancelled the transaction.
I went back and tried the same credit card again. I thought if this is a scam, they already have the information for this card, I won't be giving them even more information about how to access my money in a different way (a little late, I know, but I used "get a text" instead of entering a password on paypal). I was very careful and triple checked that I had entered the correct numbers. It was supposedly declined again.
I don't know what's happening but this is not right. I never have problems using my card, there is no reason for this to be a problem. Whatever is happening, they are incompetent or lying. Either way, I don't trust them anymore.
I was careful about choosing what looked like the best vpn company for me. Again, this company seems to have a great reputation online.
This incident has me concerned about someone trying to fraudulently use this credit card. I have learned that I can keep the card locked through the phone app or website. Lock/unlock are instant so I can keep it locked and only unlock it when I want to use it, then immediately lock it again. I have actually locked all my cards this morning, and will keep them locked. It's great protection from fraud.
I also have my credit frozen with the three credit reporting agencies: equifax, transunion, and experian. Nobody can get credit in your name when your credit is frozen. You can temporarily lift the freeze when you want to apply for credit. It's free and mandated by US law. A fraud alert does not stop people from getting credit in your name. Those for a fee companies that watch your credit can't stop someone from getting credit in your name. A freeze on all three agencies will stop anyone from getting credit in your name.
I saw someone said they used Paddle to process payments. For me they used a company called Cleverbridge. Don't know if it's significant, but thought I'd mention it.
Turns out that Cleverbridge is based in Germany with an office in Chicago. Why do they need 24 hours to "manually" process the charge? Why would they not even attempt the charge, according to the card company? This payment should have slid through an American company very quickly. This actually just makes me more suspicious.
The email saying my card was rejected has a big obvious option to try another payment method. (Big green rectangle in the middle of the page.) What if I tried something else and it was also "not authorized", and I was presented with "try another payment method" again? Why was I asked to enter my bank's password in the middle of a paypal transaction? What if they are simply gathering ways to access your money?
Has this happened to anyone else??
Not only am I disappointed, but I trust everyone a little bit less because of Hide.me's good reputation. How can I trust anyone?

10/26/2022: They are asking for screenshots of my browser history proving when I was on their site. I don't have that. I have sent the 2 emails from them saying my payment was not authorized, both dated. I have sent another email from them asking about paypal which proves I initiated the paypal payment. I sent a screenshot of my credit card account showing I was not rejected for lack of funds. I am not going to send what they're asking for so this review may be deleted. Be warned. My entire purpose here was to warn you that their payment operation is not right.
In fact, be warned that trustpilot may delete my review because I don't provide what they're demanding but I don't have, after I have cooperated as much as possible. They're acting like I'm the one who did something wrong. I don't appreciate it.
Wow. Hideme vpn responds with NO APOLOGY for me. Don't care about the customer.
I have tested this VPN extensively over the last few days on iOS and iPadOS and here are the conclusions!
If all the setting options worked correctly it would be a great VPN but they do not. Here are the reasons and things that this VPN does on the latest version of iOS and iPadOS
1-It will disconnect and reconnect often. It is unstable. The reason I know this is because I have made a script to let me know when the connection drops. I get an alert notification.
2-The second questionable thing I have found that is disturbing, is the iPadOS shows “VPN” same for iOS) in the upper right corner. Yet, when I go into the hide.me VPN app it shows it’s disconnected. When I tap the connect button it starts up. I go into iOS settings and check the VPN connection manually and the connection time has restarted and is counting up now. This bug is very concerning when iOS says the connection is On and it is not!
3-The DNS manual entry is not working either. I have a private DNS service that I pay for. I can go into the logs and check and see if the devices I am testing are using my DNS address that is mine. I do not get the “green light” in my DNS Service program that this “this device is using the configuration.”
4-The Kill Switch does not work whatsoever! It just doesn’t work!
Advice, Good Advice Below, Listen to Me
Conclusions: I have tested many paid versions of VPN’s over the years on a multitude of devices. For iOS and iPadOS and MacOS I can give some really good advice here. The best and most stable VPN services are as follows. Express VPN, Surfshark VPN, Vypr VPN, PIA VPN is another good and decent choice. I had pretty good luck with Nord VPN too. I do not know anything about Free VPN’s as I am smart enough to know that you get what you pay for, meaning, they sell your data!

I tried this app as the free version. It worked ok, but I’m not crazy about it, so I uninstalled it.
The app keeps reappearing every day on both of my devices now. I uninstalled it from both. Next morning, it’s back.
I turned off automatic downloads and automatic updates, but this stupid app keeps returning.
I’ve tried everything short of completely erasing my phone.
I guess that’s my next step.

I am currently still tied up with a competitor of hide.me, yet I recently bought a monthly subscription from hide.me.
The reason for this was that I read in various internet forums that hide.me offers very high transfer rates. But I also found the dynamic multihop function very appealing, because you often search in vain for this feature with competitors.
I must honestly say I am highly impressed with hide.me. I've already tested several VPN providers and with a 1 Gigabit line I couldn't get more than 500 Mbit/s download with almost all of them. For distant countries this is a good result, but for neighboring countries a loss of 50% is just too much for me in this day and age.
Hide.me delivers impressive results of 700-900 Mbit/s download for almost all neighboring countries thanks to Wireguard. For me, this is a new peak value and I must expressly praise hide.me for this!
The self-configured multihop connections also work very well, even if the ping is higher because of the distances, hide.me delivers download rates of 300-400 Mbit/s here.
It is also pleasing that hide.me relies on Advania ehf in Iceland, a provider that also has its headquarters in Iceland. Many competitors have switched to providers outside Iceland (for cost reasons?).
Another positive aspect is that hide.me offers IPv6 addresses for most servers, which is also rare in my experience.
The connections are VERY stable after some tests (even for the multihop connections) and there are no big fluctuations in performance over time.
Data protection and privacy is obviously lived at hide.me, so there are no trackers like Google Analytics and Co. on the website as well as in their Android app - that's exemplary!
Hide.me, headquartered in Malaysia, looks very trustworthy to me with what they state themselves and should be in the upper range of VPN providers in my opinion, but unfortunately the provider is not as popular as other services.
The only criticism I have is that the last independent audit I could find of them is from 2015, here I would like to see a more recent one to underline the zero-logging policy. Also, hide.me publishes transparency reports - but the last one I could find was from 2020, so at least a new one for 2021 would be desirable. But this is also criticism on a high level.
I will now test hide.me further and more thoroughly and if they continue to deliver what I am currently experiencing then I will become a permanent customer. Hide.me does a lot very right and belongs in my eyes to a real insider tip among VPN providers.

I've also explained to you that I was able to solve the issue with the the windows service myself meanwhile. However, one needs to be aware how to find out a pid and how to kill it with admin rights. Your main concern was to defend why you are right and I am wrong. This is a remarkable form of customer service. I stick with the fact that I really couldn't care less if your employees are getting their PhD or if they have to feed a family. This is utterly out of my concern. If you use ready made answers, I am afraid that comes very close to a bot... nevertheless, you coninue to attack my rating and defame me by accusing me of defamation. Your 24/7 chat support is not delivering what I expected. Chat support is one to one support, which it is not when you're asked to open a ticket once the readily available preset questions are out of stock. Ich bin bei Hide.me seit 2013 durch gehend. Der Service ist hervorragend und man bekommt innerhalb kürzester Zeit eine Antwort zu seinen Fragen. Die Antworten sind für jeden Laien sehr verständlich und wenn man mal etwas nicht verstanden hat, dann wird es bei einer erneuten Anfrage an den Support, noch mal ausführlich erklärt. Ich habe es in den Ganzen Jahren noch nie erlebt, das der Support unfreundlich war oder etwas nicht beantworten konnte.
Die App für WIN 7 funktioniert seit Jahren absolut einwandfrei und läuft stabil und kann ohne Probleme 24h durch laufen! Durch die große Server Auswahl, mit dem Anzeigen des Pings, gibt es fast schon unendliche Möglichkeiten seinen eigenen Standort zu wählen. Bei der richtigen Einstellung von Browser und App gibt es definitiv kein Leak!
Hide.me hat zu dem eine große englische und deutsche Community. Dort können zusätzlich Fragen gestellt werden , die dann auch von anderen Nutzern beantwortet werden.
Alles in allem kann ich nur jedem empfehlen Hide.me zu nutzen. Es lohnt sich wirklich und das Preis/Leistungsverhältniss stimmt.

Отличная вещица. Я сегодня много перепробовал из представленных в магазине бесплатных вариантов и из тех, что устанавливал, лично для меня этот оказался лучшим.
1. Высокая скорость. Вообще не заметил разницы по скорости что с прокси что без него, прямо летает.
2. Высокая анонимность. Проверял через хоер, результат радует.
3. Выбор серверов. Обычно во всех бесплатных вариантах доступен как правило только один, а тут сразу три, и все три с одинаково высокой скоростью.
Так что лично для меня это 5 из 5. Спасибо за работу, надеюсь дальше будет также.

Needed to access some shopping sites, news sites, and auction sites in the US from Sweden. The free one only has Canada, Germany, Netherlands -- but all of the US sites worked from Canada proxy. You can upgrade for "US" if needed. Realize this is not a VPN but a web proxy -- don't expect your video games or apps to be reporting elsewhere.
Making wireguard a premium service wasn't smart I can name 2 off the top of my head that offer it Free. protonvpn and windscribe and both use military grade encryption. I'd fix that asap. it's one thing needing to upgrade because your out of Gbs but make a feature that's free elsewhere and btw proton has no data cap for life on the free version alone. Make wireguard free and i'll consider using you guys more often. Vpn game is a hard one to win but you have to look at the competition.
Works very well for me. Easy to set and passed checking of IP address on several sites. Didn't seem to slow down data. One small kink: setting 'Netherlands' actually showed ''Portugal' on one IP checker. On another it read as 'Netherlands' again. Since neither are my real IP address I am still more than happy. Ich bin seit einer Woche Zahlkunde bei hide.me. Ich möchte dieses VPN hauptsächlich zum streamen deutscher öffentlicher TV-Sender nutzen (Wohnsitz im Ausland). Dafür habe ich einen RaspberryPi 3+ mit Kodi. Ich installierte das VPN gemäß Tutorial auf der Webseite, doch es funktionierte nicht. Also kontaktierte ich den Support. Im Chat wurde ich gebeten, eine E-Mail zu schreiben, was ich auch getan habe. Die erste Antwort kam vernünftig schnell (auf Englisch), war detailliert und zeigte verschiedene Lösungsansätze auf. doch die vorgeschlagenen Lösungen funktionierten nicht. Nach meiner Rückmeldung bekam ich vom selben, kompetenten Mitarbeiter (das ist heutzutage eine lobens- und erwähnenswerte Seltenheit !) eine Antwort: er hat meine Installation nachgestellt, den Fehler gefunden und mir innerhalb weniger Stunden eine funktionierende Lösung geschickt.
Ich war vorher bei der Konkurrenz, dort war das alles ganz anders.
Aufgrund dieser positiven Support-Erfahrung kann ich hide.me VPN wärmstens weiterempfehlen: hier ist der Kunde noch König und wird persönlich betreut. BRAVO!

Having tried numerous VPN providers, I settled on hide.me as it's the only one I've come across so far that improves my 4G based Internet connection. Without the VPN, there's often a 10x speed difference between what I get on Ookla's speed test and what I actually get, e.g. Vimeo regularly gives the buffering circle even down at 720p, yet Ookla can give me a speed test over 100Mbps! Once I enable the VPN, the playing field levels, i.e. downloads are much faster and not only does Vimeo stream glitch free, but at 4K, which I haven't seen before with my Internet connection. The VPN also comes in handy for getting past geographic restrictions on streaming services.
The only issue I have with hide.me is it gives service not running errors when switching between user accounts on Windows. Their support was quick to respond, giving me steps to try. Although this issue remains even after reinstalling, it's minor - as long as I don't switch user on Windows, it doesn't give any other issue and connection is generally very stable.
Hide me use a company to process their subscription fees called Paddle. This company charged me £59.99 twice for 1 years Hide me subscription. Paddle uses PayPal to take the money. PayPal said they wouldn't refund me the money.
I sent emails to Paddle and they just kept responding by saying I'd taken out a subscription and ignored the fact that they had charged me twice.
I had to contact my bank to get the refund. However, PayPal didn't like this and froze my account until I returned the refund.
Update: It took 2 months and multiple emails to get my refund. Paddle on behalf of Hide me finally authorised a refund after admitting a system error took two payments instead of one.
I got the free version cuz I’m broke and I wanna watch a show on Netflix that’s not in my country so I got this vpn free version and in free version it’s only lets u select one country and that your own country I live in Pakistan and it only lets me connect the vpn to Pakistan so of course my show isn’t gonna pop up if I’m connected to the same country please let free version have atleast one more country like Australia or something please
A recent update has made the app log out of my
Account every 30 minutes to an hour, at first I thought it was because I was using several devices at once and it had somehow stopped allowing multiple devices but that isn’t the case. It just logs out randomly with no warning regardless if I’m signed in on multiple devices or just one with it, so it’s quite bad, which means I have to constantly resign in and then reconnect to VPN. My router seems to constantly have issues now staying connected as well. Speeds and performance when connected are still amazing but with it logging out so often and without any warning it isn’t reliable for me anymore. Please release an update that fixes this issue soon so I can have the amazing features and security that I paid for back on my router and my devices.
This extension doesn't work. In a video on YouTube they suggested to use Hide.Me to use Roblox in Jordan and UAE, the website didn't have apple computer only iPad and iPhone so i clicked on chrome since i use it. I went on the Roblox website with the extension enabled and nothing changed from before so i disabled it and re-enabled the extension but the same problem. Do not use this extension it doesn't work, people!!!!!

Attention, administration! After a finish of a trial time, application says that I have to buy a paid subscription. After that I close the application and see that my wifi connection doesn't work! I made a reboot, Wifi still doesn't work. After that I made a system network abort. Wifi still didn't work. In cellular settings I saw that phone try to reconnect to vpn all the time. VPN button all time switches from On to Off and manual turning off doesn't work.after that I understand that this reconnection doesn't give the phone wifi work normally. I deleted this Hide me vpn application, try to reconnect to wifi and it normally start to work. I repeated this alghoritm twice and all was the same. Please, fix it!!! Iphone Xs ios 12.1.4!
Maybe there were some good fixes "under the hood", but the new, lackluster interface is not at all easy to visually work with as the previous one. For example, the flag icon representing the current connection is now gone, and is replaced by the city name in the country where the server is located. Unless you know the names of small German villages, how is the user supposed to quickly and easily know that "Herten" means you're connected in Germany? No flag and no country name means now IT IS BROKEN because in many cases users will have to click all kinds of things to get the relevant info rather than just by looking at the screen. Thank you so much for that step backwards. The connection animation in the previous version was also a quick and easy way to confirm the connection. That simple, elegant and easy functionality is also gone, replaced by a static screen that requires a few moments to look around for written information confirming the connection. The smart thing to have done would have been to keep the previous interface and "enhance" it with all of text info that has replaced it.
By the way, what are all the "new" features mentioned in your less than informative update text. How about some details?
To begin, if you are ever going to get a VPN for any reason, get hide.me. This service is really fast and I mean really fast. On my broadband, I was able to get 340 mbps down and 20 mbps up, which is the maximum speed that my ISP provides. In theory you could get gigabit speeds due to the high end infrastructure hide.me uses. However, if you are going to subscribe to this service, subscribe to the premium plan that is available on their website. With the mobile plan, you only have 1 connection and can not be used on a PC. However, with the premium plan you can get 5 simultaneous connections, unlimited data transfer, unlimited bandwidth and PORT FORWARDING. This is the only service I have seen that supports this feature. Subscribe on the hide.me website instead of on iTunes. I could not be anymore happy with it. Strongly recommended to people with very fast internet connections (above 100-200 mbps).
In-app settings does not allow you to choose vpn protocol, To get past my colleges domain firewalls I have to use IPsec, not IKEv2, but the app doesn’t let you manually switch protocols. Instead I have to register on the desktop web-site to do so.
So far this app has performed wonderfully. I have never used a VPN on my devices before, but with all of the privacy concerns these days, I decided to start using a VPN service. This is the first one that I have used and it seems to be working fine. It is on all of my mobile devices and my desktop. I signed up for one year of service, so I will see how this goes. I also installed Onion Tor browsers on my devices. There is another VPN app that I may try when this subscription is nearing its end as it sounds even better, but I did not see it until today.
This VPN company is really brilliant, I bought a years contract for 5 devices with unlimited data usage and I wanted to let everyone know how delighted I am with it. (hide.me) is their website.
I am using 2 servers one in Canada and one in Netherlands, both of which are famous for great infrastructure and very liberal file sharing laws (not that we would engage in such things)
My speed if anything seems faster than I was getting from my ISP. The bandwidth is fine too.
I had one or two issues with setting up, but on reflection this was my fault. The easy set up guides are great (but you do need to read and follow them)
I had occasion to email them for help and was answered very quickly by a guy we'll call "M", one or two short emails later and all 5 devices running great.
I highly recommend this company, there are some out there who don't offer all the benefits these do, so be careful, read the small print, or just sign up with Hide.me

Still delighted with this company, so much so that i have just bought a lifetime VPN subscription with them. In my opinion they can't be beaten.
